We have no dues or fees, but we are self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions.  (Our 7th Tradition) If you are new to Al-Anon, please consider supporting your own recovery first with the purchase of Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature, otherwise known as CAL. Many members have found “Service” (volunteering to take on a well-defined position for a limited amount of time) to be essential to their recovery; this also keeps Al-Anon’s expenses manageable.

Besides contributing funds to your group, there are four other parts of Al-Anon to consider. For group donations, please include the group number (see below).

The World Service Office (WSO), Al-Anon’s headquarters. They maintain the website Al-Anon.org, write the monthly Forum magazine, produce the Service Manual and Conference Approved Literature (CAL), plan International Conventions, and many other services. The fair wages of these “special workers” at WSO (Tradition 8) are among the expenses that went on even while in-person meetings did not. To contribute to the WSO, follow this link.

Area 24 includes all of Maryland and the District of Columbia. The Area budget provides insurance for our events, sending our Delegate to the World Service Conference, funding the Area website and meetings for Group Reps, and providing seed money for the self-supporting Spring and Fall Conventions. For ways to contribute to the Area, click here.

District – these geographical areas are indicated in the meeting lists, and usually include about ten meetings. Group Reps meet to support one another and plan workshops, for which there may be rent and other expenses. For the address of your District Treasurer, contact the District Representative. These are listed in the Area 24 Newsletter (subscribe here) – for anonymity, the posted version of the newsletter omits these full names and addresses. Or contact the AIS chairperson (email at the bottom of each page).

The Baltimore Area Information Service (AIS) pays for the hosting of this website, publishing paper directories, planning the Birthday Luncheon each April, funding public outreach, and hosting monthly meetings for Alternate Group Reps (AGR’s). You may contribute via Paypal or by mailing a check payable to “Baltimore AIS” to:
